Abby graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary medicine with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2016. Following graduation, she completed a small animal emergency and surgery rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, MA. Upon completion of her rotating internship, she was accepted into The Marine Mammal Center’s internship program in marine mammal medicine and pathology in Sausalito, CA before being hired on as The National Marine Mammal Foundation veterinary fellow in San Diego. She was hired on as an associate veterinarian with the National Marine Mammal Foundation in support of the Navy Marine Mammal Program following her fellowship completion. She completed a Master in Public Health (MPH) in 2020 and in addition to clinical medicine, she has specific interests in epidemiology and biostatistics to help answer clinical and research questions.
