In August 2021, she began her career in marine mammal care as an Animal Care and Training intern with the Navy Marine Mammal Program (NMMP). During this time, she earned licensure as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) and advanced to an internship with the NMMP veterinary team. Midway through the internship, Dayna was hired by the NMMF as a Laboratory Assistant, responsible for maintaining the clinical and research sample biobank. Shortly thereafter, she transitioned into her current role as an RVT and Lab Assistant with the NMMF. She’s enjoyed every moment of this rewarding journey so far!
