Ferreri began his career in 1992 at Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC., home to more than 2,000 animals, and then worked at the New England Aquarium in Boston, MA. In 2004, he brought his expertise and experience to San Diego to become an animal trainer for the Navy Marine Mammal Program.
Ferreri joined the National Marine Mammal Foundation’s leadership team in 2016 as a marine mammal care and training supervisor. He trains Navy dolphins and sea lions for deployments that protect the men and women serving in the U.S. military. In his current position, he also uses his extensive knowledge and background to provide mentorship for the animal care team. Ferreri has a Master’s degree in Zoology from Southern Illinois University.
