Katie Moffat

Katie graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology. Following graduation, she completed the animal training and care internship with the US Navy Marine Mammal Program (NMMP). Upon completion of the internship in 2010, Katie was hired as a marine mammal trainer with the NMMP. During her eight and a half years as a marine mammal trainer and marine mammal supervisor, she gained invaluable experience in the program’s mission and marine mammal care in a fast-paced 24/7 operational environment. Katie began working with the National Marine Mammal Foundation as a veterinary technician in 2019. As our operational site senior veterinary technician, it is her primary mission to provide the utmost care to our marine mammal population and be a catalyst in propelling the field of marine mammal veterinary medicine and research.
