Kelley Winship
Post-Doctoral Associate
Kelley Winship is a Scientist studying marine mammal cognition and welfare. She received her PhD from the University of Southern Mississippi studying the use of technology as enrichment in dolphins. A former dolphin trainer and researcher in the Florida Keys, she joined the NMMF team in 2019 as a Postdoctoral Associate. Her current work focuses on the provision of a computerized cognitive enrichment device to the U.S. Navy’s sea lions and dolphins, called the Enclosure Video Enrichment (EVE) system. Kelley also mentors undergraduate and graduate student interns interested in gaining hands-on experience in marine mammal research. In her free time, she enjoys exploring San Diego with her husband and two dogs.
