Kyle Ross, DVM, MPH, DACVPM
Veterinarian
Dr. Kyle Ross is a veterinarian at the National Marine Mammal Foundation (NMMF), specializing in marine mammal health, conservation, and public health. He holds a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. Dr. Ross began his career as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps, where he provided care for military working dogs, service members’ pets, and public health oversight at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. During this time, he also contributed to the care of Navy marine mammals in the Pacific Northwest. In 2018, he became a clinical veterinarian with the Navy Marine Mammal Program in San Diego, before transitioning to the NMMF in 2022. Dr. Ross has contributed to various conservation efforts focused on the care and rehabilitation of marine mammals and is deeply committed to advancing conservation medicine and one health. Dr. Ross is also an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM fields, serving as the chair of the NMMF’s DEIJ committee. He is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment within his work and values partnerships that support the shared mission of improving marine mammal health and ocean conservation.
