Madilyn Pardini earned her undergraduate degree in marine biology from the University of San Diego in 2017. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in marine mammal science from the University of Miami where she ran a pilot study focused on diving lung capacity in California sea lions and harbor seals. Before joining the NMMF, she continued to research different aspects of physiology and life history in pinnipeds in Santa Cruz, CA and Seward, AK. Her research now focuses on dolphin hearing and the effects of anthropogenic noise.
