With 50+ years as a research scientist specializing in marine mammal psychoacoustics and biosonar, Patrick now works as a consultant with the Foundation. He retired from the Navy Marine Mammal Program after 38 years including serving as the Head of the Research and Veterinary services branch, Head of the Systems branch and Head of the Biosonar Program Office. Patrick is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America, Charter Member of the Society for Marine Mammalogy, member of the American Institute of Physics, and continues to serve on editorial boards of several professional journals. He co-edited a book on animal echolocation, organized and conducted multiple international meetings on marine mammals and echolocation, and written numerous book chapters and over 100 research articles. Patrick supports the Foundation in research protocols and provides a critical role in hardware design and development.
