Sean Avery began his work with marine mammals through the U.S. Navy Marine Mammal Program internship, supporting the animal care and training for dolphins and sea lions. He was later hired as a Research Assistant with the National Marine Mammal Foundation’s Conservation Biology team, contributing to bioacoustics research. Sean is a UC San Diego alumnus currently completing his degree in Marine Biology, planning to go onto graduate school to further his work in research. Outside of assisting the bioacoustics research with the Navy’s bioacoustics lab, he enjoys cooking, motorcycling, and watching too many movies.
