Jason Smith is the founder, president, and principal consultant at Stillwater Strategy Partners, a nonprofit capacity-building firm that works with clients at the intersection of good governance, communications, and philanthropy. Over the course of a 30-year career, he has led complex organizations and transformative initiatives across the nonprofit, healthcare, higher education, and humanitarian sectors. His experience includes serving as chief executive officer for domestic human services organizations, executive vice president for a growing health system and affiliated foundation, campaign manager and vice president for a public university’s largest fundraising effort, and head of global corporate communications for the world’s largest international humanitarian organization. He has also served in significant volunteer leadership and governance roles with organizations across multiple sectors. A Southern California native who now calls Montana home, Jason is driven by a passion for serving communities, building collaborative teams, and fostering authentic relationships between donors, advocates, and the causes that strengthen lives and communities.
