5th Annual Walter Munk Day ~ Celebrate Our Oceans

The annual Walter Munk Day celebration honors Walter’s 80-year legacy of daring exploration and discovery through scientific research, education and ocean conservation. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of the fragility of our oceans and showcase Kumeyaay Heritage and Culture.

We will be hosting interactive activities at our booth. Stop by to test your ocean knowledge, learn about local marine mammals, and win some cute prizes!

POP for a Porpoise Workshop

The NMMF will be hosting our POP (Prevent Ocean Plastics) for a Porpoise workshop at Skyline Branch Library. Learn how plastic gets into our oceans, negatively impacts our marine mammals, and most importantly, how we can prevent it! We will guide students through interactive activities, and library staff members will teach you an eco-friendly and spooky craft.
